Food trucks had an array of delicious options, yes there were artisanal tacos and even gourmet burgers. Chefs could still engage with customers, gaining loyal fans, while experimenting with the food truck model. Lifestyle is born and mattered; just because you got your start as a food truck, didn't mean you had to be treated as one.
At Sip & Savor, you will find with every dish served a story is told. Whether it is something traditional to an ethnic cuisine or something from a family recipe, we incorporate that historical aspect in crafted meals. There is a reason we sourced from seasonal taking bold flavors that drove our menus forward.
Food Trucks were never the intention to become an upscale experience; it was a continuation of our concept idea, color, space, menu originality, and creativity while moving from a casual dining food truck experience to a fine dining experience. Our fine dining experience now bore some resemblance to having soul from our food truck adventure.
At Sip & Savor, we are not just food, we are connection. They provide a place for community to exist - whether we are on a food truck or at a fine dining restaurant. With the added elements of live music, chef's tables, and different dining experiences, the act of eating becomes a memory.
They always try to franchise with farms in the area so, they can have the freshest product while supporting the local community. They are mindful of their eco-friendly packaging and even composting! So, diners can leave feeling good knowing they enjoyed a meal responsibly, in every sense.
Sip & Savor has plans for pop-ups and cooking classes, and they have even started working on a cookbook. It is looking to broaden its reach, but not to the detriment of what we value, and celebrates every bite, casual or not. With a focus on innovation and inclusivity, there will be so much to involve in the future.
Whether you consider yourself a foodie or eat out casually, Sip & Savor connects diners with special eating opportunities that showcase Austin's creativity, culture, and love of food, whether those be farm-to-table bites or international dishes. It brings people together as a community over equivalent meals and exceptional flavors.
Sip & Savor is about uplifting Austin's culinary talent by allowing emerging chefs and small restaurants. By creating events and working with local partners to offer curated opportunities for diners to experience local emerging talent as a physical engagement in this highly competitive market, we hope to eventually showcase the behind-the-scenes work that many restaurants and chefs put in.
These experiences are more than just tasting or one-off eating experiences, they are bringing participants together over a shared experience and appreciation for food while learning from industry professionals. Varying from a simple wine-pairing night to taco-making nights, the participants share their experiences and connect over the shared experience of common conversation.
Basically, no matter what type of food you like to eat, whether it is Tex-Mex or Vietnamese street food, Sip & Savor is showcasing a rich tapestry of food culture rooted in some of the most diverse areas of Austin’s multicultural flavor. The special events they periodically put together not only introduce locals to new food tastes, but also embrace the food’s cultural history.
Many of its events are centered on seasonal, functional, and localized ingredients. This is a huge deal to the atmosphere too; reduced carbon footprints and more business for centralized Texas makers. Our workshops on aspects of zero-cell cooking and intentionally composting are just the more a proactive way of empowering the community with sustainable practices.
Sip & Savor is not all food, it is building community. Network mixers, charity dinners, and even new ventures are facilitated by the meetings of chefs, entrepreneurs, food lovers, and everyone in between. We have indisputably illustrated that food is more than about eating and sustenance; it is a powerful means of converging community through shared interests.
Disguise your backyard or balcony as a lovely venue with twinkling lights and plush throws and a selection of really nice wines. Great dinner pairings would be to include artisanal cheeses and chocolates. As you sip on your wine, have a chit chat with your significant other discussing the tasting notes and flavors you enjoy most about the wine.
Turn your home into a mixology lab by taking a virtual cocktail class together. Many bars and distilleries are now offering virtual classes and cooking lessons. You can learn how to make all kinds of cocktails together, learning a little mixology history and techniques along the way.
Elevate your date night with a carefully curated food and wine pairing dinner. Think Italian, French, or something local. Prepare a dinner that matches the wines, or if you are not inclined to cook, order from a high-end restaurant that provides a pairing meal. For every wine you enjoy together, discuss how the wine pairs well with the food.
For a romantic date night, you can plan a sunset picnic with craft beers made in your area. Pack a picnic basket with charcuterie bread and seasonal fruits. Head to a park or beach with beautiful scenery. Sample beers of different varieties, from hoppy IPAs to smooth stouts, while watching the golden-hour views.
Choose sweets for your tasting, such as chocolate truffles or fruit tarts, and pair them with dessert wines, like Moscato, Port, or Sauternes. The sweet and rich flavors will delight your senses, and the intimate setting will inspire romance. Set the stage with candles and soft music to create an ambiance that transforms a simple tasting into an unforgettable experience.
Can’t travel? You can bring the vineyard or brewery to you with a virtual tour. Many wineries and craft breweries have embraced doing online experiences where you can tour their production facilities and learn how they make it. You can also order a tasting kit ahead of your virtual experience to taste along while the host guides you through each tasting.
